Colt Model of 1911 U.S. Army .45 ACP - Serial Number 20514 (ca. 1913)

Colt Model 1911 serial number 20514 - This 1911 was part of a shipment of 200 guns shipped to the Springfield Armory on January 25, 1913. Pistol has been refinished.

 

Colt logo without circle on the left side of the slide behind serrations from January 1913 forward.  Transition point was at approximately serial number 20000.

The mark of Army Inspector of Ordnance Major Walter G. Penfield.  Penfield inspected these pistols from January 2, 1911 - September 30, 1914.  Serial numbers of Model 1911 pistols inspected 1 - 101500.
